What we collect
When you use Plant Mom, we collect:
- Your email address — used to sign you in and send care reminders
- Plant data you enter — names, species, care logs, sensor readings, notes
- Photos you upload for plant identification and health analysis
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we never see your card details
Your photos & location privacy
We take photo privacy seriously. Every image uploaded to Plant Mom is automatically stripped of all metadata — including GPS location, device information, timestamps, and camera data — before it leaves your device and again on our servers. We never store or transmit location data embedded in your photos.
How we use your data
- To provide plant care tracking, reminders, and AI health analysis
- To send care digest emails and push notifications (only when you opt in)
- To process your subscription through Stripe
- To measure how our advertising performs — only if you accept analytics cookies
- We do not sell your data. With your consent, we share limited, hashed activity data (such as your email) with Meta to measure our advertising — you can opt out at any time through the cookie notice or the Global Privacy Control signal.
Third-party services
- Stripe — payment processing
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Anthropic — AI health analysis (photos are sent for analysis only, not stored by Anthropic)
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage measurement (only with your consent)
- Meta — advertising measurement via the Meta Pixel (only with your consent)
Data retention & deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — instantly — from your Account settings. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. If you need help, email [email protected].
Cookies
We use cookies in two categories:
- Essential — a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. This is always active and can't be turned off, since the app can't function without it.
- Analytics & measurement — Google Analytics cookies (
_ga, _gid) that help us understand how the app is used, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel (_fbp), which measures the performance of our advertising and may share hashed contact information (such as your email) with Meta to attribute activity to your account. These load only if you accept them in the cookie notice.
We never sell your data. You can decline analytics cookies at any time through the cookie notice, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically. To change a prior choice, clear this site's data in your browser and the notice will appear again.
