What Plant Mom is
Plant Mom is a plant care tracking application provided by Watershed Media. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Your account
- You must provide a valid email address to use Plant Mom
- You are responsible for keeping your account secure
- You may not share your account with others
- You must be 18 years or older to use this service
Subscriptions & billing
- Plant Mom Pro is billed at $4.99/month via Stripe
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings — access continues until the end of your billing period
- We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods
- Free plan users may add up to 3 plants
- Pro plan ("unlimited plants") is subject to a reasonable use limit of 500 plants per account. Accounts exceeding this limit or showing signs of automated or non-personal use may be contacted or suspended
- AI health analysis on the Pro plan is subject to fair use — automated or bulk submission of images is not permitted
AI health analysis
Plant Mom's health analysis and plant identification features are powered by artificial intelligence provided by Anthropic (Claude). By using these features you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- AI can make mistakes. Diagnoses, species identifications, and care recommendations are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific plant or environment. Always apply your own judgement.
- Not a substitute for professional advice. AI analysis does not replace the advice of a qualified horticulturalist, botanist, or plant care professional. For valuable, rare, or commercially significant plants, consult an expert.
- No liability for plant loss or property damage. Watershed Media is not responsible for the death, damage, or loss of any plant, or any property damage, arising from actions taken based on AI-generated analysis or recommendations. Use of these features is entirely at your own risk.
- Image processing. Photos you submit for analysis are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. All metadata including location data is stripped from images before transmission. Images are not stored by Anthropic beyond the scope of processing your request.
- Fair use. Automated or bulk submission of images is not permitted. These features are intended for personal, non-commercial plant care use only.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer or scrape the application
- Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or violates others' rights
- Abuse the AI analysis feature or attempt to circumvent usage limits
Your content
You own all content you upload to Plant Mom — photos, notes, and plant data. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for advertising or share it with third parties beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions.
Limitation of liability
Plant Mom is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Watershed Media expressly disclaims all liability for:
- The death, damage, or loss of any plant resulting from following app recommendations or AI-generated advice
- Any property damage arising directly or indirectly from use of the service
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or profits
- Inaccurate AI diagnoses, misidentified species, or incorrect care guidance
- Service interruptions, data loss, or errors in the application
In no event shall Watershed Media's total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify you by email if changes are material. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
